This book is amazing. The author takes all of the Bible passages which deal with marriage, along with their contexts, and explains how you can build a better marriage. This is not one of those cheesy self-help books. This is a book which shows you exactly how to live out your Christian faith in ways that make your marriage a source of joy for you and your spouse. The author is one of those very rare writers who takes complex ideas and makes them understandable and useful for everyone. There are few living authors who write at this level. I'd say Cook's writing is somewhere between CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien. He's got a great combination of the ability to teach and the ability to create vivid imagery in his writing. Great read
I thought it was an excellent read...some interesting ideas and vantages, and ways of phrasing ideas -- worth you time and definitely worth your money!
Simple and practical. A good resource for anyone serious about having a godly marriage.
This is an excellent resource on the subject of marriage! It is packed with scripture to support each point presented, which is important to me. After all, the Bible has the final say! I like that when something is stated in this book, there are scripture references in parenthesis that support it. This means that, even though the book isn't extremely long, I can basically use it as a study guide with which to delve into the Bible. I will definitely recommend this book to others, and my fiancé and I each have a copy!
